How to care for oil painting? --5 Rules
by Oilpainting-Arts.com Editors
October 25, 2008
Do you know how to care for oil painting if you're first-time art buyers yourself? Don't worry about if your answer is not. There are little bit of information for the first-time art buyers to take care of oil painting which they have purchased and chosen to live with.
Here are just a few basic rules
1. Never lean the front or back surface of a stretched canvas on a pointed or sharp object, no matter how small. This will leave a dent that will disfigure your work. If you must lean it against something, lean it on the wood of its stretcher bars so that nothing presses against the canvas.
2. You might want to dust your painting regularly, so that a thick layer of dust does not build up which will dry out the paint and possibly result in cracking and peeling. Do not spray anything (like pledge) on the work.
3. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight will fade the colors in your oil painting. Please be aware of this when choosing a location for it. Never expose your painting to extreme heat, extreme cold, or to extreme humidity.
4. If you must transport the work, lay a flat piece of cardboard, mat board or similar firm material over the front and back surfaces, and then wrap it in bubble wrap or Styrofoam wrap.
5. If you ever need or want to get rid of the work for any reason, always contact the artist, who should be informed of the work's new whereabouts so he or she can update the work's provenance records. Never, ever destroy or throw away an original work of art!!! If you absolutely can't keep it for any reason, offer to give it back to its creator.
I hope these rules can help you and I hope all people should keep in mind that art is more than just a commodity. It is a piece of the artist's soul.

You know fine art is rare and expensive; not all of us can afford to have works done by the famous masters. S0 people have sought out ways to reproduce these works with as much efficiency and dexterity as possible, but at a relatively lower cost.
There are two types of fine art reproductions, manual (handmade) and mechanical. And all reproductions from
www.oilpainting-arts.com are manual (handmade).
Our hand-painted oil art reproductions focus on being faithful to the process of creating that artwork. Here, 0ver 100 trained professionals who have mastered the stroke of a particular masterpiece attempt to recreate it as closely as possible. You can be certain the handmade painting was made just for you, it was not commissioned just for you; During the painting itself, even more intricacies arise, such as complicated palettes and the order of applying the different hues to the canvas, or brush strokes that become especially difficult in impressionist and expressionist paintings.
We promise oil painting reproductions can be completed in as little as two weeks. (Allowances for shipping must be made, though.) What you get out of the box is a breathtaking replica right in your own home, save for some obligatory differences.
